The White Orchid Beach house is THE Maui wedding venue you will want if you have a small wedding group. I can’t really even begin to describe how perfect, private, and beautiful it is for small groups under about 40 people. If you want spectacular views with total privacy, look no further. I have photographed a number of weddings and elopements at the beach house, and below is my firsthand experience with what it’s like.
The White Orchid Beach house has stunning ocean views, a classic “old Hawaii” plantation house vibe, and tall tropical palm trees and foliage that make this venue truly unbeatable. The sunsets here really do not compare to anywhere else on Maui. The way the sunlight hits the black lava rocks in front is just stunning.
The Beach House has a bridal room and groom room for getting ready, a room for the groom to get ready as well as a full kitchen available for catering. You get the house rental along with the property. There is an expansive and recently remodeled deck that provides shade for those hot Maui days, as you relax and soak in the ocean views.
The venue is situated in Makena Maui, towards the very end of the road and close to the lava fields of south Maui. It’s about 10 minutes from most of the Wailea resorts and Hotels and about 15-20 minutes from Kihei. If you are staying on the west side of Maui then it’s about an hour or more away.
There is very limited parking at this venue, less than about 5-8 cars, so if you have a small group you will likely need transportation for them. The house is located in a residential area, so I don’t believe you are allowed to have a loud dance party, it’s more for a mellow dinner and acoustic music vibes.

The weather at this venue is some of the best on Maui. Located on the “dry” side of Maui near the black lava fields, it rarely rains and it has the most gorgeous sunsets

Is it conveniently located?
The beach house is located about 15 minutes from Wailea, and 20 minutes from Kihei on the south side of Maui. It’s recommended that you stay in Wailea or Kihei if having your celebration at this venue. Lahaina and Kapalua are about an hour or more away.

Use of the oceanfront beach house, one site property attendant, parking attendant, beach photography permit, cleaning prior and post event, use of home interior and exterior (except kitchen if catering), and one hour rehearsal one day prior.
