Hilary & Jeff’s oceanfront Maui wedding was incredible. They had their wedding ceremony at Merriman’s Restaurant in Kapalua and the reception at Fleetwoods on Front Street in Lahaina.
Merrriman’s Kapalua has the perfect ceremony location right on the water. It’s tucked off to the bottom side of the restaurant on a grassy lawn, which somehow feels private from the restaurant. It overlooks Kapalua Bay which has the most crystal clear blue waters. It’s a beautiful location for an intimate wedding.
When Hilary arrived she looked amazing in her flowy classy dress with her hair down in beachy curls. She chose colorful pink and blush flowers for her day. Then the conch shell blew and as she walked into the ceremony with her dad, the look on Jeff’s face said it all.
They had a traditional Hawaiian wedding ceremony. Basically that means the officiant blows the conch shell as the wedding party and bride walk in, he chants some Hawaiian blessings, and the bride and groom exchange flower leis during the ceremony as a sign of love and respect- Aloha. It was beautiful.
After the ceremony guests enjoyed some refreshments before taking off to Fleetwoods on Front Street for the dinner celebration. We snapped some pics out front on the lava rocks in front of Merriman’s. They have the most awesome dramatic look. Then on the way to Fleetwoods we also stopped at a beach in Lahaina for some sunset pics.
The newlyweds were having the best time and truly taking their wedding day in. They then rejoined their guests for dinner and had the best time with their family and friends on a beautiful Maui evening.
